Leading teams is both a daunting and rewarding responsibility, one that is all too often taken for granted, based on a person’s record in areas that are often fairly remote from what makes good managers. True leadership require that one has been able to formulate what success looks like, both in terms of the achievements of the team, in terms of their personal development and the company’s bottom line.
Coaching is particularly effective in supporting managers to develop into true leaders, in reflecting on their own style and defining what is the journey they are embarked upon with their teams and define for themselves an ambitious future. Within the coaching relation, leaders can embark on this journey where they will better understand their own strengths and development areas, experiment with alternative ways of addressing their challenges and develop new skills and competencies as they are treading unchartered territory.
Coaching also helps leaders to establish authentic communication with their teams, engage in courageous conversations and help them develop and grow as they are working side by side towards these ambitious goals.
Through mirroring and 360 degrees feedback, I help leaders to have a more conscious presence in their work with others, physically, rationally, emotionally, in their work and in communicating with their stakeholders. Coaching can be effective through individual coaching of leaders or team coaching.
